There it is. December. Already? Finally? I don’t know. But I do know that I am looking forward to this year’s end. Like we all do. 2021 has to be better!
Every year around this time I am like: “Next year I am gonna start early. I will get presents in October.” Yeah, sure. This is never gonna happen since I am a serious procrastinator. I only work well under extreme pressure. Like last weekend and this afternoon before my last material pick up for my students in 2020. I finished organizing all worksheets, art materials, little gifts, and the Advent calendar just in time before the first parents drove up the drop-off circle at my school. It was good to see some happy children’s faces. My first graders make me smile every day. Something really good about this endless, quiet, the often unbearable year 2020.
Presents are actually the last thing I care about this year. Gifts should not be a priority people. Let’s focus on happy moments. Like December 1st, 2018 when we adopted our dog, and 2019 when we decorated our tree.
I love this time of year and I am determined to create happy moments this December, too. Decorating the house (check), baking cookies (two kinds so far), watching Christmas movies (only three) already made me very happy. Let’s try hard to focus on positive things.
I want to share something with you here every day for the next 24 days (let’s see Mrs. Dally).
This is my Advent Calendar for you and I’m gonna open the first door here metaphorically. Hop over to Coffee Cups and Crayons and get your Random Act of Christmas Kindness Advent Calendar.
Can’t wait what’s behind tomorrow’s door. Good night.
