My weekly ramble #28
This morning I met up with three women from my meetup group. We went hiking in Los Gatos and had lunch at the Purple Onion Café after. Jo and her Monday walks have inspired me to end or start the week with a hike. That is why I’ve been trying to either go for a walk on Sunday or Monday and it is very convenient that I don’t have to work on Mondays.
You can talk so well while hiking.
Today was another glorious Californian fall day. It was much warmer than anticipated and hiking up St. Joseph’s hill was a good workout for this Monday morning, after running yesterday.
I had a wonderful time with enriching conversations. K moved all over the US and is an Expat from New Jersey ;). The other two I’ve met before and I really enjoy their company. A has grown kids all over the world and lives mostly in Sydney, Australia and partially here in San Jose. M has lived in more than five countries and we talked about how you always miss what you don’t have. We agreed that we should try even harder to enjoy the present moment and what’s right in front of us. During lunch, among other things, we talked about taking buddhist lessons and found a few groups here in the Bay Area. I’m thinking about joining the first lesson this Saturday.
The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly. — Buddha.
Every time I come home from one of these meetings, I feel inspired and empowered. I love hearing all the different stories from interesting and energetic women. What inspired you today?
