Friday Link Love #4
Today I’m gonna share random stuff with you. First of all I want to share that Quora has now a German website and my work of the last few weeks was a tiny piece of this project. You can check it out here:
If you read my post from yesterday, you might have fallen in love with this kitten. If you want to find out more about Siberian Pearl cats, you should check out our Vera’s and Timothy’s website.
Blogs
Stadt Land Mama. A pretty cool German mom blog. Katharina and Lisa are journalists who write about their city life and life in the countryside. They post interviews, test products and stories of other families.
ZuckerimSalz, another cool German blog about food, decoration & living. Check it out.
And a really cool German photography blog. MyBlog – solaner. A photographer’s view to the world – a traveler’s blog.
Articles
Ten state parks you can’t miss from SmarterTravel.com. Last Sunday I checked off No. 3 Eldorado Canyon State Park in Colorado. No. 1 and 2 were Na Pali Coast State Park and Bodie, CA.
I told you about Moon Travel Guides last time and they also have sample itineraries online, which I find very helpful. Best of Zion & Bryce Three Day Itinerary.
An oldie but goldie: My favorite article about German parenting. How To Parent Like A German.
I wrote about German parenting before, too. You can read this post here.
And here is the experience of an American mom who tried this German parenting for week, while living in Duisburg. That is a pretty tough combination, lol!

Music, Magazines & More
Lisa & Katharina recently interviewed Smudo, a member of my favorite German band “Die Fantastischen Vier” about feminism. You can read the interview here. I’ve had a big crush on this guy in my twenties 😉 This band basically accompanied my whole adult life. I went to four of their concerts, the last one was the 2015 Open Air in Mainz, Germany. I hadn’t seen them live for more than ten years (unfortunately they don’t come to the US). It was a hot night with about 100° Fahrenheit and the concert was incredibly fun!
One of my favorite German magazines is Flow.
They also offer an English version, but unfortunately they don’t ship it to the US yet.
Flow is a magazine that takes time.
“Celebrating creativity, imperfection, and life’s little pleasures”.
Just recently the publisher added the version for men.
Wolf (my husband’s first name btw) is “Das Männer-Magazin fürs Wesentliche” (the magazine for men about the essentials in life).
And last but not least something to laugh. If you’re a woman living in the US, it’s pretty likely that you’ve had a mani/pedi at a nail salon. And even if that’s the case, you’ll have a good laugh listening and watching Anjelah Johnson about her experience at the “Beautiful Nail”-Salon.
Happy Weekend!
