The capitol of my country was divided when the Berlin Wall was built in 1961. I wasn’t born yet. People of West Berlin were separated from the outside world and could only get to West Germany on the road or rail transit. People couldn’t see their friends and family anymore. People got killed when they tried to climb it. The death toll is estimated to be well above 200. This wall only produced chaos in people’s lives and the best part of Germany’s recent history is that it is gone. Do not build any more walls. Anywhere.
You can find segments of the Berlin Wall in over 100 different places all over the world.
This post is my entry for this week’s Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge and it is a part of a series called NaBloPoMo 2016 hosted by BlogHer. NaBloPoMo is short for National Blog Posting Month and it challenges writers and creatives to post on their blogs once a day (at least) for the month of November. You can find all my posts on my blogher page, too. Stay tuned!
