Three Word Thursday #27
Today I’m linking up again with Amanda from Running with Spoons. Hop over and check out other random thoughts on this Thursday.
1 Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe it’s already day 11 of 2018 and I’m back in California. I did not write down New Year’s resolutions, but I subscribed to Headspace (which was on my list for a while) and I’m pretty successful in doing one thing at a time, aka mono tasking. What are your resolutions for 2018?
Back in California means jet lag.
2 Jet lag is an asshole. Really. I. Hate. It. The only way to get over it, is to accept it and to try to stay up longer every night. The problem is that every time I come back from Germany (where my heart still is), I get into this re-entry funk and jet lag makes it even worse. I’m on an emotional rollercoaster and couldn’t get off yet. I suddenly burst out in tears because I’m sad that my time in Germany is over and because it’s always a bit of work to readjust to life in California. Having to go to work, a sucky commute and no rain ever since we got back certainly do NOT help. What’s up with the sun, California?
3 Having a sick child is the worst. Our older one always gets super apathetic when she has a fever and it’s really hard for me to leave her home alone. I’d rather cut work, stay home and cuddle with her on the sofa. Luckily, she feels better now.
4 Throw Back Thursday: Today I’m wearing one of my favorite rings ever. I haven’t worn it for a long time, but fell in my hands this morning and I’m so happy about this! Every time I wear it, it puts a smile on my face. Because it makes me be grateful for our wonderful girls and reminds me of my the dear friend who gave it to me 10 years ago. Thank you once more, Anja!
5 Aren’t these the best tissues ever? I found them at the Düsseldorf Airport and had to buy them. In German you sometimes call “Mr. Right” the “prince on the white horse”. And the tissue says:
When the heck will the prince with his damn nag show up?
6 Tonight I have to bake the birthday cake for my 14-year old. Do you know the Old-Fashioned Layered Chocolate Cake from America’s Test Kitchen? It’s the best!
Happy Thursday everyone!
