Tomorrow is Karneval!!
Actually in Germany it already is Weiberfastnacht – one of the biggest days for true fans of Karneval. If you’re following my blog or IG, you know that we are celebrating the first real Karnevalsparty in the Silicon Valley this upcoming Saturday at Ludwig’s German Table in San José. Last night, I had nightmares of decorations and my costume not arriving on time. My dear friend went shopping for me in Cologne, but the package hasn’t arrived yet. It is in the US, but I don’t know where exactly at this moment. Please, keep your fingers crossed that the parcel did not get stuck in customs and will be here by Saturday morning the latest!
Anyway, I thought I share some last minute costume ideas with you. Some of them you probably have in your closet.
Scarecrow
Robber
Holly Golightly
Cactus Costume
Little Red Riding Hood & the big bad wolf
Thing #1, #2 or #3 and so on
Princess Leia
Bubble Bath
Anger, Joy or Sadness
Tippi Hedren in Birds
Mary Poppins
If you don’t have the right pieces in your closet, check out your local Goodwill store. Last Halloween, my teenage daughter and I went to the thrift store and I found all the pieces for a perfect Mary Poppins costume – even the old school shoes – for about $35. So much fun!
Ok, that’s it for today. There are so many more ideas I could share, but it’s time for bed. Have the best time tomorrow, my dear German friends! Dreimal Kölle Alaaf!
