I wouldn’t say that hiking is one of my passions, but I always enjoy a good long walk, preferably with friends, in a beautiful place of which we have lots here in California. I find that it’s easier to talk while you walk. Walking is good for you in many ways. It is a low-cardio […]
Happy New Year! It’s 2016 and time for a fresh start and more blog posts, which is one of my New Year’s resolutions. The best resolution I think posted my husband: Spend more time with people & things that make you happy and less with those which do not. We will try that together. It was […]
Labor Day camping It’s coming up. Like tomorrow. One of the biggest holidays weekends in the country. The official end of the summer for the Americans. Probably every single campsite in California is booked. Everyone who’ve missed booking a site in February or better right after Labor Day 2014 is still hoping for a cancellation. We’re going camping with this […]

It seems that there is a day for almost everything. In February the Americans celebrate the National Pizza Day, the National Donut Day and […]
Words of the day
Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right.

I’m Kathrin, a German who’s been living the last 9 years in the crazy world of Silicon Valley. Even though I love our life in California, I’m still missing Köln (Cologne) and the German lifestyle a lot. On this blog I share some of my stories and ruminate about what home really means. I’m a mother of two girls and the wife of an iSlave, a teacher, a social introvert and very passionate about the things I do.
I’m glad you’re here! Schön, dass du hier bist!
